The vision of the original Seiko 5, re-imagined
The year was 1968, on the eve of the Summer of Love and the cultural revolution of the early seventies, came the ethos of the Seiko 5 collection, which promised an automatic movement; a day-date display in a single aperture at 3 o’clock; robust water-resistance; a recessed crown at 4 o’clock; and a solidly built steel case and bracelet or strap. The resulting Seiko 5 collection would go on to become a mainstay in timekeeping history, and today, Seiko pays tribute to those pioneering models with a fresh limited edition that retains all of those original features and design aesthetic — right down to a newly engineered bar-link style stainless steel bracelet to complete the look. And just for collectors, Seiko is including an additional leather strap, enabling you to change up the look at any time.
This Seiko 5 is powered by Seiko’s own 4R36 automatic movement with 41 hours of power reserve, and a day/date complication. It is limited to 9,999 pieces.
